VR Hire St Albans
A Georgian country house with nineteen function suites, a Roman museum that hires in the evenings, and a cathedral that has stood since the eleventh century. St Albans offers rather more than a commuter town has any right to.
We know St Albans's venues
The twice-weekly street market closes St Peter's Street and the Market Place to vehicles for most of Wednesday and Saturday, which rules out those two daytimes for anything needing a central drop. It's one of the oldest markets in the country and it isn't going anywhere, so we simply work around it — afternoons and evenings on market days are fine, and everything outside the core is unaffected.
Sopwell House is the venue that carries the town: a Georgian country house with nineteen suites, the largest taking 700, and grounds that make a summer away day feel like a proper occasion. Verulamium Museum is the interesting alternative — Roman mosaics as a backdrop for an evening event is a hard thing to follow. One thing worth checking before you book far ahead: the Alban Arena is open but mid-refurbishment, and the council has been consulting on replacing it entirely as part of a city-centre redevelopment.

What we bring to St Albans events
Signature holes in a Georgian house; a considerably better client evening than a restaurant.

Travel
St Albans and the surrounding county see no travel added, and sitting outside the ULEZ keeps things simpler than a few miles south. Market-day bookings get an afternoon slot by default.
Booking
Sopwell House is the constraint rather than the calendar — it books a long way ahead for summer and December. Everything else in the city is comfortable on a fortnight.
