VR Hire Doncaster
A racecourse with 3,400 square metres of exhibition space and a five-storey grandstand, an arena complex on Bawtry Road, and a 600-seat auditorium in the town centre. Doncaster's event capacity is genuinely large.
We know Doncaster's venues
St Leger week in September is the date that matters. There are no formal road closures, which lulls people into ignoring it, but Bawtry Road and Leger Way — the two roads serving the racecourse, the Dome and the stadium — clog thoroughly for four days. Since those three venues account for most of the town's large-event capacity, a September booking wants checking against the festival calendar before anything else.
The racecourse is the biggest room by a wide margin: 3,400 square metres of exhibition hall alongside the grandstand, with parking to match. The Dome adds an arena and leisure complex for concerts and exhibitions, and Cast in Waterdale offers a 600-plus seat auditorium and a 400-standing studio in the centre. One naming note worth having: the football stadium became Club Doncaster Sports Village at the start of July 2026, having previously been Keepmoat and then Eco-Power — almost every listing and satnav entry is out of date.

Travel
Travel within Doncaster and the immediate area is included in every quote. September dates get checked against the St Leger calendar, since four days of unofficial congestion affects exactly the roads serving the biggest venues.
Booking
St Leger week and December are the two squeezes. Outside them the town has more large-room availability than almost anywhere in Yorkshire.
