The A63 Castle Street scheme is the thing to watch. It's the main artery into both the city centre and the port, the £355m works overran by a year into spring 2026, and overnight closures still appear at short notice. For an evening event that matters most at get-out rather than get-in, so we check National Highways before committing to a late finish rather than discovering a closed carriageway at eleven at night.
Connexin Live is the newest asset — an arena with an 800-seat auditorium plus the Lookout and Live Lounge spaces on Myton Street. It was the Bonus Arena until 2023, so plenty of listings still carry the old name. The DoubleTree's pillar-free ballroom handles a thousand theatre or 750 banqueting in the city centre, and the MKM Stadium out at West Park adds nine main suites and 28 boxes. The Guildhall's 350-seat Banquet Hall covers anything wanting civic grandeur.
