VR Hire Peterborough
A 1,700-seat auditorium, a medieval cathedral precinct with its own conference centre, and hotel meeting space for 450. Peterborough lost its biggest exhibition venue in 2023 and the rest of the city has quietly picked up the slack.
We know Peterborough's venues
The city is ringed by 50mph parkways — Nene, Fletton, Frank Perkins — and getting anywhere means choosing the right parkway junction rather than trusting a postcode. Bridge Street in the centre is bus-only, so a van heading for the cathedral quarter needs the approach planned rather than improvised. It's a fast, modern road network that punishes hesitation and rewards knowing which exit you want before you commit to it.
One important gap to know about: the East of England Arena, long the city's biggest exhibition venue, closed in July 2023, surrendered its events licence, and its redevelopment was refused planning in late 2025. It is not bookable, whatever older listings suggest. What's left is genuinely good — KingsGate's 1,700-seat auditorium with three suites and seven meeting rooms, the Weston Homes Stadium, and Orton Hall's parkland setting for something smaller.

Travel
Getting to you anywhere in Peterborough or the immediate Fens costs nothing extra. Jobs are routed by parkway junction, and cathedral-quarter deliveries avoid bus-only Bridge Street entirely.
Booking
Losing the arena tightened the market for large events, so anything sizeable wants six weeks or more. Smaller bookings remain comfortable on a fortnight.
