We know Chichester's venues
Goodwood governs the calendar here in a way few venues govern anything. The Festival of Speed in July, Glorious Goodwood in late July and August, and the Revival in September each gridlock the A286 and A285 up to the Downs, and push queues onto the A27 bypass, for days rather than hours at a time. Any date near one of them gets flagged at quote stage. Outside those windows, the estate is a superb place to run an event and the parking is measured in fields.
In the city itself things are gentler. The Novium sits directly over the Roman baths it was built to display, the Harbour Hotel offers Georgian rooms a short walk from the cross, and the university's Bishop Otter campus has lecture theatres and a sports hall that take a large build. Worth being straight about geography: every Goodwood venue is three to four miles north of Chichester on the Downs, not in the city.
