Why VR

Built for how Cardiff offices actually work

Fixture-proof logistics

When the Principality Stadium has a big kick-off, the city centre closes to vans and gridlocks for hours either side. We read the fixture calendar at booking, not on the morning — your event lands on time regardless of who Wales are playing.

The whole city, one price

Central Square towers, Capital Quarter, the Bay's media floors and the office parks out at Cardiff Gate all price identically. Travel inside the city is in the number; Newport and Bridgend carry a small itemised line.

Mixed floors, one game

Insurance, media, civil service and fintech share this city, and a good team day has to hold all of them at once. Ninety-second turns and a visible scoreboard do what a trust exercise never will.

The format

Two hours, zero admin for you

The tournament arrives, runs and leaves around your working day — no venue hire, no minimum spend, no coach at dawn.

0:00 Load-in and rig

We arrive on the pre-scouted route, mat out a corner of your floor and have stations tested while the team finishes emails. One socket per station is the entire technical requirement.

0:60 Open qualifying

Everyone gets scored turns in rotation. The screen recruits harder than any calendar invite — the moment a big number posts, the queue builds itself.

1:45 Head-to-head finals

The top four play off on the big screen while the floor heckles. It is nearly always someone from the quiet corner who takes it.

2:00 Podium, photo, gone

Champion crowned, kit cased, floor returned as found. We're out inside twenty minutes and the debrief happens at the pub without us.

How it plays in Cardiff

Cardiff's office map splits three ways and we cover them all: the new towers around Central Square where the BBC and the professional firms sit, the insurance and fintech floors spread from Greyfriars Road to Capital Quarter, and the media and creative units down at the Bay. Access differs more than you'd expect — tower loading bays want booking references, the Bay's converted sheds want a trolley run — so we scout the route before the day and quote you an arrival window we can actually keep.

The format earns its keep with mixed departments. Claims handlers, developers and producers all get the same ninety seconds on the mat, and the leaderboard has no idea who's senior. Late-afternoon slots are the Cardiff favourite: qualifying through the last working hour, finals as the laptops close, and the whole floor out the door by six with something to argue about on Womanby Street.

Cardiff FAQs

Asked before every booking

Does a rugby international affect our booking?
Only if we let it, which we don't. Match days close the roads around the stadium and thicken traffic city-wide, so we check the fixture list before confirming any central Cardiff date and route or retime the load-in accordingly. Worst case we arrive earlier — never late.
Can you run it in a Central Square tower?
Yes — those buildings have proper loading bays and lifts, they just want the paperwork done first. Give us your facilities contact and we handle the booking reference, the risk assessment and the insurance certificate without you chasing any of it.
We're out at Cardiff Gate — is that extra?
No. The business parks on the city's edge are inside the standard price, and honestly easier: ground-floor access and parking by the door usually shaves twenty minutes off the build.
What does it cost per head?
A 40-person Office Takeover works out around £22 each with host, kit, scoring and travel inside. Smaller teams do better on the ninety-minute Energiser than stretching a full format thin.
How far ahead do Cardiff dates book?
Two to three weeks covers most of the year. The pinch comes when a home international lands near your preferred Friday — those weeks, book four to six weeks out and let us pick the arrival window.
